What I
Offer

01

No more green washing

With around 10 years of experience in the textile industry, running a sustainable textiles business and doing ongoing field research, I have seen and experienced many levels of greenwashing. All of that you can avoid and be vary of.

03

What is financially feasible for you at this time on the spectrum of sustainable practices?

In order for you to make a better world through your sustainable brand, it must be profitable. You can only do sustainable business practices as long you a sustainable business. So it must be a gradual practice of creating change slowly and gradually. It's not a one time fix but an ongoing process, this journey of sustainbility.

05

Every business is personal

Or should I say, every successful business is personal. Meaning the only things that can be successful are the things that work for you in a long run. A business must also be sustainable on a personal level. You are not separate from you business. It must support and work according to who you are as a person. It must function in alignment with you.

02

Testing the credibility of your source

I have been sourcing sustainable fabrics for over 8 years and with hard lessons. I learned to really test the credibility of the source. And filter out the legitimate producers in this ever growing industry.

04

Starting a process of a regenerative and sustainable future. Creating a plan.

There must be a plan in place to name, achieve and communicate your sustainability goals. So there can be clear idea of the desired future and a clear direction for your business and team members.

06

Understanding how deep you want to go and from where you must start.

There are many levels to sustainability. Many layers that can be fine tuned forever as responding the changing environment, conditions of the business, the legislations and regulations of countries and many other factors. Hence, it is an alive process. You want to get clarity on where you at and where you'd like to be. And that will change too. It all evolves and changes as the business continues, as it grows and as you grow as a human.

Welcome to one chapter of my life.

I graduated university with a business degree, having no idea of what I wanted from life. As I started looking for work, I realized I couldn't do anything that was meaningless to me. It needed to be more than a business, it needed to have positive impact. So I found a company that was only working with organic and natural products and I worked with them for about 8 months before leaving everything and going to India to do research on sustainable fashion industry.

It was a 2 month long trip to INDIA, traveling from city to city, state to state. Seeing what the reality of this world actually was. A lot of things shocked me and a lot surprised me. There was a lot of bad in the conventional industry but there were a lot of good on the other side. So many people doing amazing things to make a better world.

That trip led me to opening a sustainable textile business, Doriya. It started with high hopes and big promises. It seemed simple enough. Just sourcing organic and natural fabrics. Didn't realize the depth of what both of those words meant. I had no idea I was in for a crazy ride. It was a ride that lasted for about 7 years.

I got to experience the truth of sustainability, the depth, the impact and the layers it contains. I dived deep, starting from seeds, the farms, the farmers, the market, the spinners, the weavers, the factories, hand made and machine made, the array of natural colours and the varieties in that, the middle men, the role of women, co-ops, non-profits, for profits. From individuals to big businesses. I dealt with it all.

I have been going to India almost every year ever since for the love of textiles and all things natural. And I am here to share my knowledge with business that would benefit tremendously from this.
